So, @WildRumpus exists. This is all quite exciting, really.
-
@psychicteeth @RudolfKremers you're already there?!
-
@KommanderKlobb @SFBTom I have an exercise ball. It's great.
-
@tigershungry @Dick_Hogg continuing the conversation from last night - no-one calls me "V" - but I'm as attached to v21 as I am to George.

@KommanderKlobb @asponge I let down my guard - and was defeated by a well placed handshake.

@Slaktus Quote from last night: "18 months clean!" "What from?" "WoW" "Ah, good work"
-
@Slaktus now I want to write a blues song called "I lost my friends to World of Warcraft"
-
Would you like some unfocused life advice from people who post on twitter? I have the website for you: twitfortune.com/
-
@doougle @KommanderKlobb did you fix the syncing-falling-out issue?
-
Tired. Holding things together. They keep trying to come apart.
-
@doougle @KommanderKlobb the move controllers fell out of being synced. Or ran out of juice? Or lost their pairing? I wasn't entirely clear.
-
@SiriHoho :D
-
@doougle @KommanderKlobb yeah, a BUTTON-style press w/in 5 secs or else you don't get to play should fix it. Might add more ceremony, too.
-
@Slaktus it's the relationship between pressing the lever and getting the pellet. The connection should be unreliable.
-
@Slaktus but the research covered all of these. Form is maybe not SP directly translatable. Although there are some drug trials...
-
@pozorvlak you gotta admit she's hot, though...
-
@pozorvlak an individual instance is fine, an atmosphere is awful. But you gotta try.
-
Much easier to arrange things via DM than email. Somehow it's not *a task*.
-
@missmorganp I literally shivered with desire for a girl who is _both_.
-
@hannahnicklin oh, that is excellent. Minds me of @newsmary 's Playful (?) talk about games as story machines.

@terrycavanagh :< I can't see it. And twitter's site is broken on my phone, so I can't navigate to the changing password page. Fuckssake.
-
@terrycavanagh but thank you for the warning, hope damage is limited til I can get this sodding bus home.
-
@terrycavanagh & now twitter have sent me an email - they disabled my account til I changed the password.And I'm on the bus. :) thanks again

@JoeCavers i'm fine, i'm safely at home in Hammersmith.
-
@KommanderKlobb @Slaktus that's totally most of it.
-
And the riots aren't the most read thing on BBC News right now. And actually, I think I might agree.

-
@la_miaow Hammersmith has been completely fine. So has Brick Lane. Fingers crossed.
-
@missmorganp Three reasons I've seen: the joy of destruction, wanting to loot shit, and fuck the police. All at least a little political.
-
"Evacuating" via a pint.

@cuddleslag I can handle an emergency that leaves me sitting in the sun with a beer.

@jamesbridle hard to tell what's prompted and what's spontaneous. And no-one wants to be caught out.

@Slaktus because the people who are rioting are scary. talking heads are professional people-on-tv, hence not at all scary.
-

-
@radiodario @guided1 did...

RT @AdamShawBiz: Tesco,Sainsbury,Asda & others just fined £49.51million by OFT for co-ordinating rise in prices. Surprisingly little men ...

-
@ashleygwinnell our needs might be unusual - tracking Unity shit in it. which means heaps of auto-generated binary files.

@radiodario I don't like that story.
-
Tesco amongst those found guilty of fixing the price of milk and cheese. The whole thing estimated to cost consumers £270 million.
-
OFT planned to fine over £116 million. But after "consultation" that was scaled back.
-
So they were collectively fined less than £50 million. Tesco's share is £10 million, but they're counter-suing the OFT.
-
The worst part : I'm still going to buy milk distributed by price fixers in price-fixing supermarkets.
-
On average, they stole almost a fiver from every single man, woman and child in the UK.
-
@Slaktus no, i'm suggesting our government is both weak and uninterested in fighting these excesses, to our continuing detriment.
-
@Slaktus take their role as regulators seriously. treat this shit as criminal. create a level legal battleground when taking on companies.
-
@Slaktus could be summarized as "their jobs". That's what government should do.
-
@Slaktus campaign reform would help a lot. like a lot of evil, it comes down to corruption, in hard and soft forms.
-
@Slaktus his point about anarchism is spot-on - but negates itself for practical purposes. after you accept it, the fight is still the same.
-
@Slaktus the world would be better if *this* power center changed it's relationship with *that* power center, so : campaign finance reform
-
@Slaktus when was before the rot set in?
-
@Slaktus like I said, you gotta try to make it better. You gotta keep your eyes open. You gotta continue caring. Fuck, life is hard.
-
@Slaktus The ideals of equality and responsibility it was built upon have never been as upheld as well as now.
-
@Slaktus nah, the coalition is pretty sucky. equality was labour's bag, though they other flaws. but - using the long now - when was better?
-
@Slaktus "Burn it down and start from scratch!" makes less sense when shit has been improving. Even if it is more exciting.
-
@hannahnicklin Also means less resources on white-collar crime, more on poor people crime. Woo!
-
I don' think the police response to the riots was wrong. I think it was pretty great. Main problem was not having enough of them.
-
@JoeCavers oh wow! many congratulations!
-
@radiodario pretty much my reaction, too. 2 factor auth is a good thing, though.
-
@angusdick oh hey, background specks exist. still not happy with 'em, but...
-
@angusdick no stress, no stress. and i'm off to edinburgh for a week tomorrow.
-
@narfyyy the last half dozen platforms have been hits. And Sega is terrible now, no-one should emulate them.
-
Pretty pumped to be going to Edinburgh this evening! Who should I see?
-
@narfyyy yeah, it sucks for them. But - becoming SEGA? That's basically admitting defeat and going home to quietly drink yourself to death.

-
sorry, that last tweet was wrong. it is a boat that is also a ghost.
-
@Dick_Hogg no, they are fundamentally different in kind, not just in scale.
-
@Dick_Hogg i mean, a ghostboat wouldn't loom at you out of a bank of fog, silently gliding dark and abandoned, that would just be silly.

-
@mdpye @felix_cohen I'm away in Edinburgh this week, I'm afraid. But if you do go have a go on the arcade machine.
-

-
@musebloom wooo! I'll try to get tickets.
-
@musebloom Not sure! I was stuck for people that fit both criteria, thus the twitter. sold out on edfringe, but box office had some earlier.

@therussmorris call it "research"
-
@hannahnicklin Bernie DeKoven's The Well Played Game is also good for "glorious defeat"
-
@glassarmy what's your plans today? Want to meet up pre Evelyn Evelyn?

@glassarmy I could eat food. Gimme a call when you're done?

-
Goddamn it, I really want a tenori-on now.
-
Seeing Evelyn Evelyn in my old lecture theatre. Now hideously afraid I'll fall asleep halfway through.
-
@angusdick I think I ... want to spend £400 on the fact it has buttons and is made by Toshio Iwai. Yes, I know that's not entirely sane.
-
@JoeCavers stupid waiting list and even more expensive. But yet more aesthetically pleasing and hackable. But not self-contained.
-
@JoeCavers but if I wanted a project, I'd get on the Arduinome. But I don't want a project, I want a toy.
-
@JoeCavers sorry, did I say toy? I meant tool. (No I didn't, I meant toy)

And thank you Martin Creed, whose work on the Scotsman's Steps made only just catching this train an unexpectedly beautiful experience.

@resiak @whitingjp it's an awfully small world!
