      @chenoehart Living in London, it's hard to see this being viable as a future! Suburbia here is defined largely by how long it takes to get to central London by train - I do not see AVs emerging as a serious competitor to that.

    @chenoehart and both forms have their own subsidies. Here (but more in Europe) public transport has public funding, and AV seems likely to start off by burning investment cash. Only one of those works long-term (tho obv the bet is AV destroys alternatives by the time that happens)
