@mtrc great points - especially about wanting the media to be focused/not useful. especially because this ties it directly back to videogames, which are kinda defined by not being of any practical value.

@mtrc i think the very short duration, and the constant feedback/interaction helps make tiktok so successful - eg netflix has so much less data to work from.

@mtrc also, it helps a lot that tiktok launched with the algorithmic feed front-and-center. it sets context for users in a way that twitter's slow and uncertain attempts to change format really don't.
