          the results reflect the training data, and the training data is... well, it's never made clear, but certainly if you indiscriminately collected concept art drawings of faces, that's what you're mainly going to get

        thinking, too, about the current recommended route for modelling people in 3d - take a base sculpt and adapt it (which helps because you can keep the original rig, apply existing animations etc etc). just guess what the standard base models look like

    who isn't glad that phone cameras now have automatic wrinkle removal built-in, and you have to be the kind of person who notices, cares, and can navigate an opaque settings menu in order to turn it off?

      (i am assuming, without research, that there are phone cameras which use detected gender in order to trigger various automatic beautifying operations. a world where perceived sexual dimorphism is gently nudged up in the background)

        ((i am assuming this because my previous phone would, in front facing camera mode, put boxes around faces with a label for it's guess at that face's gender & age. it was honestly fascinating to play with in real time))
