imagining that disc room was made 10, 20, 30, 40 years ago. how the design would be different. the core of it (dodging discs) could've happened any of those times. but the attitude, the puzzles, the meta-structure, the light touch with narrative would be unlikely any time but now

the thing i'm really chewing over here, as weird a connection as this might be to make, is the focus on "innovation" within the cultural sector. disc room is very well made & the product of a lot of careful thought & principled positions. is disc room innovative?
