      @acciogoals sure - there's a gendered difference in whether people apply for jobs where they don't meet all of the requirements (lots of refs for this, eg this hbr.org/2014/08/why-women-dont-apply-for-jobs-unless-theyre-100-qualified). you can try to fix this on the applicant's side, encouraging them to apply anyway...

    @acciogoals or, since these are not actually requirements, but merely desired things from a candidate... why not list them as desirable, rather than necessary? a clearer, more precise listing. of course you want these things, but could you accept equivalents?

      @acciogoals lots of other ways this stuff cuts across in terms of opening up access: for example, needing a degree, excluding people from non-traditional backgrounds who are already working at this level (this is one that happens in software engineering all the time)
