@mountain_ghosts these are secondary markets for the games, vs the original digital release. iam8bit etc take it on because there's a lot of expertise and inventory risk with making physical goods, and the original publisher wouldn't want to take that on themselves.

@mountain_ghosts the biggest appeal for the devs is it's nice to have your game in a box. and also a supplementary (and probably largely non-rivalrous) sales stream.

@mountain_ghosts idk typical splits for physical editions, but i don't think the devs are getting shafted by them - buy them if you like the game & want to have it in box form!
