i will be figuring out how to wind things down in a sensible way, etc over the rest of this week. i will say, though, that cheapbotstootsweet.com/ exists, so porting your bot to Mastodon is a copy and paste away

i should probably plug the new thing i'm working on, huh? it's called Downpour, it's a app for making games on your phone, with the same kind of simple and friendly vibe that CBDQ had. not finished yet, unfortunately, but you can sign up here: downpour.games

i'm looking through my notifications and just marvelling at the sheer range and enthusiasm everyone put into their bots. lizards! mads mikkelsen! words from Kent! art, spaceships, lyrics, events in Hastings, anime, it goes on. thanks for making so so much from such a simple tool.

CBDQ will keep running until it isn't practical for it to do so. that might be next week, that might be next month, maybe even next year, your guess is as good as mine.

it's possible that the reply functionality will stop working, if it truly is a write-only API. replies requiring getting the notifications for an account, so it can see if there's anything to reply to. but i'm going to wait to see what actually happens before planning anything.

okay, we have a bit more information now. It looks like CBDQ will no longer be able to post any faster than once every 30 minutes, and the reply feature will be removed. @TwitterDev/1623467618400374784?t=m9hV2fpX9VdlDXvCNbMxDg&s=19
