@___frye with the disclaimer that I am actually a landlord & am in the UK... I live in a nice flat that was originally built as social housing and it was an active choice to stop building social housing. The capital that house buying provides is not the limiting factor on house building.Look on archive.org

@___frye The way that housing (in London especially) is used for speculation and as a store of value distorts the market in ways that make the city hostile to live in. I would not argue to make renting illegal and make no other changes, but I don't think the current system works as is.Permalink Look on archive.org
