I could see an argument, of a 5-10 indie team working in Unity, for having someone whose role is tool development and teaching.

teaching teammates about Unity, Git and other workflow stuff (& fixing it) feels like a substantial part of my job

and if you had someone full time on that, then you could work with even less game-experienced people. and teach them games stuff, as a perk.

and if it wasn't me, then i could free up time to get more comfortable with the tools my colleagues work with
