so @katbamkapow moved her PS4 into the living room, so I'm trying out Dishonoured 2. Tutorial got wedged about 2 mins in. Good start!
-
@katbamkapow (this makes me feel better about myself as a game developer, tbh)
-
for this game, I am roleplaying as an Emily Kaldwin who technically knows all the moves, but sometimes gets a bit flustered and kills people
-
sorry, guard just doing his reports who i choked (and was killed when i dropped a bottle of rum and it broke and then it caught fire oh no)
-
Real talk : Emily is quite bad at being Empress. This whole mess could have been avoided if she had a halfway decent spymaster. Or allies.
-
So I hopped up onto a balcony railing, and I spotted a guard. So I hid behind a barrel - not great, but got me out of line of sight for now.
-
The guard approached another woman (checked with my reticule, and yes, she was a civilian). Scripted conversation unspools...
-
They know each other: Guard is pressuring the civilian into stealing for her. 👎 Because she has a plan for them to run away together 👍
-
Which is a great little "hey, these guards you've been seeing as obstacles are people, and if you're killing them you should feel bad" bit
-
Finish talking, guard walks away… and spots me, because I'm just crouched behind a barrel this whole time. Whoops. Let's be non-lethal here?
-
uh, and then in the confusion I end up grabbing the civilian and start choking her out… and the guard fires at me. Brief bit of swordplay…
-
and I'm left looking at an unconscious guard, and her dead… friend? lover? sorry you killed them maybe i should reload
