I'm gonna do a thread on US politics, I'm sorry. tl;dr: blame the Republicans, not Trump personally.
-
The question has come up a few times, especially before inauguration : is impeaching Trump a good idea, if we just get Pence in return?
-
This brings up a plausible theory for the Republican party's plan:let Trump trash things, pass the most outrageous stuff (that they suggest)
-
Then, when he steps over some invisible line... they impeach him for many of the good reasons he could be impeached.
-
And then we get President Pence, who can roll a little bit of it back, seem ever so normal in comparison - and still really evil.
-
(Like... Pence seems much less fascist than Trump. So it's probably still good if he gets in. He's Republican-evil, not Bannon-evil)
-
But fuck the Republicans blaming this just on Trump. He was your candidate, you pulled behind him, it's not a surprise he's like this.
-
They're supporting him, and they don't get to wash their hands of him. (also their plan is SO incredibly dangerous). country > party
-
So: pin this on the Republicans. They can stop him but aren't. This will not magically become all fixed once we do the thing to the bad man.
