      @hypirlink ah, yeah - could be better there... but it's complex to support! can't fetch forever up the reply chain, as you'll use all yr API calls

    @hypirlink you can cache that stuff -- but then you need to like, expire caches etc and it gets complex to admin.

      @hypirlink and i really don't want to add any more user facing options to toggle this behaviour, so it needs to be a good default for all usages
