any platform for game discovery needs to spend 80% of their effort on making it good for players (20% good for devs)

this might be a weird take, because itch is the one (small) site that has momentum. but even there, it's great for player experience.

the problem is that what devs i know want is a good thing for discovering games for people who aren't that into games. which is obv tricky.

platforms for people who love games & play a lot skew towards games you play a lot, pushing out short, unique experiences.

i don't have a way of squaring this circle, or else i'd either do it or get someone else to. but it is a hard problem.
