@vivschwarz @xDemoli @Monica_ion a lot of power stations can't switch on/ramp up very quickly, so you generally need to generate enough for the spikes

@vivschwarz @xDemoli @Monica_ion but there's a bunch of (expensive, limited capacity) ways to smooth them. like pumping water uphill (it turns a generator on the way down)
